Wartech Engineering, a small business in Saline, Michigan, has landed a U.S. Air Force contract, through an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) with the Consortium for Command, Control and Communications in Cyberspace (C5), to build and install important components for a military satellite communications system under a new Prototype Project Agreement entitled “Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Shelter and Antenna Tower”. The contract signals a bright future for Wartech Engineering with continued opportunities in the government contracting arena. The company and its teammates did all of the engineering and design for antenna support towers and command enclosures that provide infrastructure and support for the system. "Wartech is proud to perform engineering, development and manufacturing for the system, contributing to the defense of the nation, and bringing manufacture of these critical components to Michigan," said Andrew Warner, the president of Wartech. “It's a big deal for Wartech, and a jumbo opportunity for a small company,” he said. The system is known as the Family of Advanced Beyond Line of Sight Terminal (FAB-T) program. It’s a secure, airborne communications network that allows the president of the United States to communicate with senior military leaders. About Wartech Engineering Wartech has designed antenna support towers and command enclosures that provide infrastructure and support for the equipment. The company will be installing the first systems at domestic Air Force bases. Following the prototype phase, Wartech expects to begin production of nearly 30 tower and enclosure systems over the next three years.
