Wartech Engineering has seen a steady increase in our defense industry clientele. This increase is due, in part, to our reputation for reliability. To date, approximately three-quarters of our projects have come from defense contractors.

Wartech brings extensive engineering experience, technical expertise, and full system manufacturing capabilities to military ground-based and aerospace equipment development programs. We provide high-level support to some of the largest names in the defense industry – Lockheed Martin, Harris Corporation, DRS Environmental Systems, Navistar, and more. Our development projects range from ground support equipment for National Missile Defense Systems to Iraq-deployed armored truck cabs.

Some of the recent programs we have contributed to are listed below.  For further detail, click on any of the headings provided.

Ground Defense Systems

Armored truck cabs for deployment in Iraq »

Wartech collaborated with International Military and Government, LLC (now called Navistar Defense) and Griffin Armor to rapidly design, analyze, and build hundreds of armored truck cabs for deployment in Iraq. A contractor in Iraq, who operated one of these tractors, provided the most poignant possible review when he said, “I’ve put a lot of stuff behind it and it hasn’t bogged down yet. I’ve taken an IED (improvised explosive device) that ripped out the engine, and I’m OK. I feel safe in it.”

Special-application armored cab »

Wartech has worked with Navistar Defense to facilitate the design and engineering of a special-application armored cab, dubbed the “Gunslinger,” for the U.S. Navy.

We are involved in projects providing engineering, design, and analysis support for military deployment vehicles.

Body and armament components for Afghanistan »

Wartech has worked with Navistar Defense, designing and analyzing body and armament components for Navistar’s Afghan Medium Tactical Vehicle program.

MRAP heavyweight armored vehicle »

Wartech provided vital mechanical engineering, analysis, and design support to Ceradyne during their development of the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected II (MRAP) heavyweight armored vehicle.

Multi-Temperature Refrigerated Container System »

Wartech’s work with DRS /Keco on the Multi-Temperature Refrigerated Container System (MTRCS) included end-to-end design of a refrigerated container system for carrying provisions to deployed troops. We handled the conceptual and detailed design. We also thoroughly analyzed strength and endurance, shock and vibration, and heat transfer.

Air Defense Systems

SBX HEMP-hardened electronics enclosure »

Wartech provided comprehensive design and analysis support to Boeing while acting as a subcontractor to Harris Corporation and DRS Environmental Systems, Inc. on a Sea-Based X-band (SBX) HEMP-hardened electronics enclosure. We provided high-level mechanical design, advanced engineering, and finite element analysis. Wartech Engineering presented extensively at each design review for the program. These presentations have led to our engagement in other engineering and development programs based largely on the strength of our performance on the SBX and other similar programs.

E2C aircraft – the Advanced Hawkeye »

Wartech supported analysis and design for updates to the E2C aircraft, the Advanced Hawkeye, for Lockheed Martin MS2 in Syracuse, NY. Our work included static strength and durability analysis, as well as shock, vibration, and fatigue analysis under multiple random vibration scenarios.

Medium Extended Air Defense System »

In another project for Lockheed Martin, Wartech assisted with the design and validation of the Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS). We worked on conceptual design, random vibration analysis, and strength and endurance analysis.
